When we first launched as The Venues Box, our mission was simple: to connect people with exceptional venues for their events. Over time, we realised we were offering much more than just spaces. Our clients weren't simply booking venues—they were seeking comprehensive solutions, bespoke experiences, and seamless event execution aligned with their goals.
This realisation sparked the beginning of our transformation. Partnering with BE., a leading publishing and marketing agency, we reimagined our identity to reflect our expanded services, creativity, and vision. Through collaboration and deep exploration, the concept of Beyond X was born.
The X represents the extraordinary and limitless possibilities inherent in every event. It symbolises the spark that transforms ideas into legacies. The transition to VenuesBX, or VBX, reflects our evolution from a venue-focused provider to a full-service, MICE-specialised company dedicated to delivering the X factor in every project.

VenuesBX's success is driven by the leadership of Chris Fenech and Darren Lewis, two industry veterans whose expertise and vision have made the company a leader in the MICE sector.
Chris Fenech, managing director, brings over 25 years of experience in tourism and events. From introducing new airlines to Malta as business development manager at Malta International Airport to repositioning the Maltese Islands as a vibrant destination during his tenure as director for the UK and Ireland at the Malta Tourism Authority, Chris has played a pivotal role in the industry. As a co-founder of The Venues Box in 2018, his strategic insight and deep understanding of event planning ensure high-impact local and international client experiences.
Darren Lewis, managing partner, began his hospitality journey in his family's restaurant business in Malta, which gave him a solid foundation in the industry. After studying at the Institute of Tourism Studies in Malta and London, Darren sharpened his expertise during a seven-year tenure with Emirates Airlines in Dubai. With over 20 years of leadership in the events sector and a master's degree in sustainable MICE tourism, Darren focuses on eco-conscious innovation and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
